The start of a new adventure

Well we made the ‘leap’ into full-time and we’re 11 days in, staying at the Bluebird RV Park at Wills Point near Canton in east Texas.  There was a Crime Prevention Fair in Canton on October the 18th, Connie’s Uncle Buster was the organizer and her Aunt Paulette led the parade on the ‘Mule’ – a small 4*4 they use on their farm. Here are a few pictures of the parade.

The reason we seemed to have jumped the gun is that we decided to have an estate sale and Texas Star Estate Sales needed to stage the house – so we moved out, that was a very hectic 9 days, but we did it. Some items that we wanted to keep are in storage, the RV is loaded and the estate sale started Thursday and finished yesterday, thankfully all the large items are sold.

This was a busy start to the weekend – the family and friends gathered to celebrate the 80th birthday of Connie’s Mom,Blowing out the candles 47 people and enough food for 147, so what’s new, we always cook too much. Then on Monday we are scheduled to close on the house – the last doctor appointment is November 13th – after that we will be staying a week down near Austin, visiting Connie’s daughter and family, great to see the boys again.

From there it gets interesting, we’re thinking about spending at least 1 month, maybe 2 around Corpus Christi – snowbird time, which would take us through the New Year. Though we’ve decided to spend Thanksgiving away from the family – that won’t work for Christmas, so the plan is to leave ‘Arvey Junior in Corpus and drive the CR-V back to Wills Point and spend a week with Connie’s Mom.
