Father’s Day walk

Bright and early this morning – Rusty did not want to wait, nice 75 degrees and a strong breeze from the south – perfect weather. A few times in the past we’ve seen a small bird seeming to drop from the branches and then fly back up, a brilliant bright blue color. We’ve never been able to get close enough to get a photograph – until this morning.

In a small group of trees about half way into the walk we saw what we believe is the Eastern Bluebird, and I think it is nesting in a nest box attached to one of the trees, We didn’t get so close, but close enough to get a picture before he took off – a little blurred but the color is visible.

The Mexican Hats are still around and this new flower, never seen it before and it was the only one in the area, we have no idea what it is – and would love to hear from you if you know what it is.

What is it
