The turtle and swallows

A little different ‘wildlife’ in the last few days. We first noticed the Swallows darting about the fields, really low and fast looking for insects, they must have amazing reactions. On our way back home we came across a pair taking a well deserved rest on top of a street sign, they were kind enough, and patient enough, to let me get a couple of pictures. Not exactly their natural habitat!!

This morning ‘eagle eye’ Connie spotted the turtle, in the deep grass and quite a way from the pond, I was wondering if I should pick it up and move it to the water – I was overruled. I guess the turtle knew what it was doing.

So that was the wild life on Crooked Creek this week – not so wild. As we neared the end of the trail I looked back and took this picture. I wondered who thought it was a good idea to paint a bright blue line through the nature trail!!! Wouldn’t an earth tone have been more fitting – and less garish? Let us know what you think,

Who thought a bright blue line would look good?
