Holland 2007 – Den Haag and Delft

After leaving Amsterdam we caught the train to The Hague, public transport in Holland is truly amazing – and punctual. We were staying at a hotel right next to the station so checked in, dropped off the luggage and took the number 1 tram to the beach at Scheveningen. The bike racks at the station are a sight to behold. Had a great meal overlooking the beach then back to the hotel.

Next stop was Delft the following day, so back to Central Station and catch another tram to Delft, so easy to get around. It’s only a few minutes walk from the tram stop to the main square in Delft, over canals and passing some really old building. In the square are the town hall, the church tower and a line of restaurants – plus the odd souvenir shop (maybe a dozen or more). There was a wedding in process at the town hall, quite an event with an old white Rolls Royce.

After looking at a few souvenirs we made our way back. Tomorrow was the flight to England, and we couldn’t get the yellow clog in our baggage 🙂
